Pre-launch note: Based on the free demo and official dev updates — we'll update with confirmed numbers within hours of the July 31 Early Access launch. Specific hosting menus and session limits will be verified in-game on day one.

Hosting & joining a session

The Ranchers supports 1–4 player online co-op — one shared ranch, worked together. What we know going into Early Access:

We'll document the exact menus, any crossplay details, and known connection fixes within hours of the Early Access release.

Role splits for 1–4 players

The #1 co-op mistake in farming games is everyone doing the same chore at the same time. Assign zones of ownership so nothing is done twice and nothing is forgotten:

Solo / duo (1–2 players)

Trio (3 players)

Full crew (4 players)

Rotate roles weekly if anyone gets bored — but within a single in-game week, stable ownership beats flexibility.

The evening rule matters most: end every day with everyone unblocking tomorrow's bottleneck — usually unwatered fields or an unbuilt upgrade.
