The Ranchers Offline Mode keeps loading or will not start

Install build 0.8.10.842 or later while Steam is online, launch the game once after the update, close it normally, and only then switch Steam to Offline Mode. The first official Early Access hotfix specifically addresses the Offline Mode loading problem.
Safe fix sequence
- Go online long enough to update.Steam cannot install the launch hotfix while it is fully offline. Open the game's Properties or Downloads view and allow the update to finish.
- Confirm the build.Use the version shown by the game and do not assume Steam's “up to date” message proves a specific build. This guide's minimum is 0.8.10.842.
- Complete one online launch.Let the updated build reach its normal menu, then exit through the game's own quit flow. This avoids testing an update that has never completed its first launch.
- Switch Steam to Offline Mode.Restart Steam when prompted, then launch the same local installation and choose solo play.
- Test before changing the save.Do not delete, rename or replace saves to solve a loading issue until the updated build has been tested. Save destruction is not part of the official fix.
Offline solo and online co-op are different tests
The hotfix permits solo use through Steam Offline Mode, but online co-op still requires Steam authentication and an internet connection. A co-op session failing while Steam is offline is therefore expected behavior, not proof that the offline loading fix failed.

If it still loads forever
Stop before trying generic “fixes” from unrelated games. Record enough context to distinguish a new regression from the launch issue:
- Exact game build and Steam client state.
- Whether a new solo session and an existing save behave differently.
- The last visible screen or message before progress stops.
- Whether the same installation reaches the menu while Steam is online.
- Any crash report or screenshot that does not expose personal information.
