Creator Notes
These notes explain what other creators and reference sources help us check, and what cannot be treated as a current-build answer. The site adds summaries, comparisons and evidence gates; it does not copy prose, images or video.
Games Station
What it helps with
A current-build walkthrough used for bounded observations of animals, crops, shops, NPC conversations and map recognition. The archive is a visual reference, not a replacement for an in-game test.
How this site uses it
We cite the relevant timestamp or use it to cross-check a page claim, then keep the observation tied to 0.8.10.455. We do not reproduce the creator's script, thumbnail or footage.
Use risk
The game has moved beyond this launch-build archive. Prices, prompts and bug behavior may have changed in later builds.
Steam Community Guides
What it helps with
A useful place to find player questions and test leads about shop hours, seed yields and animal production. The index does not make every guide authoritative.
How this site uses it
We use a guide as a lead only when its version, steps and raw observation are visible. A claim enters a current answer only after an official response, a second independent record or a reproducible test supports it.
Use risk
Older guides can preserve Alpha-era values or conclusions. Check the build before using any number, opening hour or production rule.
The Ranchers Official Wiki
What it helps with
A taxonomy and visual checklist for buildings, animals, items and places. It helps identify what to investigate, especially when a page names an entity or shows a building view.
How this site uses it
We use names and relationships as research leads, then keep current-build facts in our own evidence records. Historical values are not copied into current tables.
Use risk
Many pages retain pre-EA or Alpha-era values, and an image or category does not prove a current coordinate, recipe or unlock condition.
Animal Husbandry Guide
What it helps with
A recent player guide organized around chickens, rabbits, goats and cows. It is useful for finding the questions players ask about housing, feed, equipment and breeding, while its exact prices and setup advice remain author observations.
How this site uses it
We use the guide to select comparison targets and link players to the original walkthrough. We do not copy its shopping lists or promote its numbers into the current database without separate evidence.
Use risk
The guide does not state a current build, and the 0.8.10.842 patch changed animal and coop behavior. Treat prices, capacities and breeding steps as leads until checked.
Crop Seed Prices and Yield Tests
What it helps with
A player spreadsheet-based guide covering seed prices, seasons, growth time and fertilizer observations. It is a useful comparison lead because the author records tests instead of presenting a generic crop list.
How this site uses it
We use its categories and test questions to decide what to reproduce. The current crop database keeps per-crop sell prices blank where settlement totals do not identify each crop, and does not import the spreadsheet as a table.
Use risk
The guide does not state a build and includes a warning that fertilizer behavior is not working as advertised. Do not use its profit ranking as a current recommendation without a controlled retest.
Making Money with Dumpster Diving
What it helps with
A short early-game route that combines dumpster searches, subway movement, Zerkonite protection and Cash-In selling. It gives players a concrete route to compare with the site's money and map pages.
How this site uses it
We summarize the decision path rather than reproducing the route map. The guide is used as a lead for locations and inventory priorities; any price or daily-income claim needs separate evidence.
Use risk
Loot locations, item values and the best route may change with updates. The guide does not state a build, so it is not a guaranteed money formula.
Power & Water Production
What it helps with
A compact player note comparing a suggested solar, wind and water-pump mix by season. It is useful for identifying the power-planning question, not for proving a universal ratio.
How this site uses it
We use it as a prompt to review the Electricity Guide and to identify which seasonal production assumptions need testing. We do not copy the ratio into a calculator.
Use risk
The guide gives a recommendation without stating its build, farm load or raw measurements. Seasonal output and cost claims remain unverified.
Animal Prices and Production Sheet
What it helps with
A work-in-progress guide that links a spreadsheet for animal prices, products and daily-average profit comparisons. It shows the kind of comparison players want, while the sheet itself is not a verified source for this site.
How this site uses it
We use its categories to identify missing questions in the animal database, but keep prices, production and profit fields bounded by the site's evidence rules.
Use risk
The guide is explicitly unfinished and does not state a build or testing method. Spreadsheet rankings must not be presented as current facts.
Opening Hours
What it helps with
An older opening-hours table for vendors and town services. Its main value now is showing the recurring player need for shop schedules and the locations that should be checked again in the current build.
How this site uses it
We keep it as a historical lead and do not copy its schedule into current answers. The page itself points readers toward the newer Early Access guide.
Use risk
The guide is old and the Steam page records that its creator has not updated it since 2022. All schedules should be treated as historical until rechecked.
Opening Hours (Early Access)
What it helps with
A recent Early Access schedule lead that grouped animal vendors, the veterinarian, City Hall, shops and dealerships. The record is kept to show what needs current verification, not as a live timetable.
How this site uses it
We keep the direct source link and its removed status visible, then use the named services as candidates for map and NPC checks. No schedule is promoted without a current independent check.
Use risk
Steam currently marks the guide as removed, and its exact build is not stated. Do not rely on its hours for a time-sensitive trip.
Early Access Roadmap
What it helps with
An official roadmap link shared by a developer in a 2025 Steam discussion. It is useful for understanding historical planning context, not for proving what is available in build 0.8.10.842.
How this site uses it
We use it to separate historical plans from current update notes. Current availability must come from a dated official announcement or current-build evidence.
Use risk
The linked roadmap may change, disappear or retain outdated plans. Do not copy its dates, features or planned systems into current answers without a new source check.
The Ranchers Building Guide
What it helps with
A community building guide focused on planning work routes, testing placement space, phasing construction and using workshops to solve observed problems. It is a decision-making reference, not a current recipe or capacity table.
How this site uses it
We use its questions to strengthen the Building Guide and checklist: what route a structure serves, what should be tested in the placement preview and which claims still need current-build evidence. We do not copy its prose or promote its structure list as confirmed data.
Use risk
The page does not state a current build, and its advice is intentionally general. Treat named structures, upgrade effects and placement rules as leads until the live game or an official source confirms them.
Turn source leads into usable answers
When you need a current-build action, continue to Updates, Community Radar or the methodology page; these notes do not replace those pages.
